So lets start off with the question, what is Smile Brilliant? Smile Brilliant is a company that provides an at-home, professional strength, custom teeth whitening system! I will go into detail on how this step by step process works, but lets discuss how this whole experience worked out for me!

Anyone who knows me, knows how much I LOVE coffee! It is a must have on a day to day basis with me! With that being said this has been super hard on my teeth. Not only the over all health of my teeth, but defiantly the color! (gross right?) It was actually such perfect timing when I was contacted by Smile Brilliant, because I had just recently been to the dentist, where we discussed teeth whiting options, and there was no way, ya girl could afford that kind of treatment! So, I was over the moon grateful and thrilled that this company reached out to me! On top of the excessive coffee intake, I also have Hyperfluorosis on my front two teeth. If you are unfamiliar with what this is, I am going to insert the definition here. “Dental fluorosis (also termed mottled enamel) is an extremely common disorder, characterized by hypomineralization of tooth enamel caused by ingestion of excessive fluoride during enamel formation.” This causes the teeth in my situation to appear lighter in some areas, than others. I had awesome results while using the Smile Brilliant teeth whiting system, not only for the discoloration from the coffee, but also for my Hyperfluorosis! I was thrilled!

I have tried it all when it comes to teeth whiting, I mean who doesn’t want a perfect smile? I have used whiting infused tooth pastes,lighting pens, gels and different systems as well! None of them, even compare to how Smile Brilliant worked for me! With that being said lets move on to how this system works!

Fist things first, whats in the kit when you first receive it?

So unfortunately, I didn’t take a picture of the kit when the actual teeth molding trays where in my kit. But I will insert a picture of what they look like. Not including the teeth molding trays and the cushioned envelope, this is what the kit looked like when I first received it. The small circular tubes (blue and black) that you see above are what you use to actually create your custom molds! So cool right? So you mix both the Catalyst and the Base Paste until your putty is all blue, with no left over white streaks. Another important thing to remember when you are mixing the putty, is to move quickly. The putty will start to harden. Mixing should not take longer than 30 seconds. The next step is to then place your putty into the trays, and make sure your putty is even all the way across. This step is to make sure that the molds of your teeth are as accurate as possible.

Now on to everyone’s favorite part, creating the molds! Once you place your putty into the trays you must stick the trays into your mouth to create your molds. In the step by step directions it also explains, that you should not prepare your upper and lower molds at the same time, or else the putty will harden. So, I started with the upper impressions and then moved on to my bottom impressions. To make sure that your impressions are as accurate as possible, hold putty/tray in your mouth for at least 2 minutes! I know this part can be some what uncomfortable, but trust me it is not as bad is it seems! Two minutes is nothing, right? Once you have completed both your upper and lower impressions place into padded envelope that Smile Brilliant provides, plus a shipping label which is so convenient and send those puppies on their way!

                                  This is what the trays look like as well as the putty mix! This picture does not belong to me, but I will attach the link to the picture in which it does! I apologize for not getting pictures of these trays and molds for myself and for you all!

After a week and a half my impressions showed up and it was time to get this process started! When I tried my impressions on for the first time, they fit like a glove! I was so thrilled! They also came in a little container which was so convenient and if your someone who looses EVERYTHING then this is a major plus!

Step One -Whitening Gel: Now its time to get into the process! Prior to the application-Brush teeth with water (NO TOOTHPASTE) and clean and dry your custom fitted trays!

The teeth whiting part (orange packaging) is the first step! I made the mistake of using the Desensitizing Gel first before the Whitening Gel, so make sure you read and follow the directions! Once your unwrap the gel out of the package, remove cap and apply gel to trays! 1 syringe=3-4 applications (top to bottom)

Apply a thin steady ribbon of gel along the front, outer surface of trays (surface that comes in contact with front of teeth.)  They also make it very clear that adding too much gel in trays may increase tooth sensitivity and gum irritation. In my case, my teeth are more sensitive so I had to moderate how much gel I used it and for how long. I did not experience any uncomfortably and sensitivity while using this system! (whoohoo!)

Next, its time to insert the trays and whiten! Dry teeth the best of your ability and insert the trays. Insert the trays using a forward pressing motion and avoid dragging the gel down. The gel will spread evenly over the front surfaced of teeth. Any access gel that occurs wipe away with moist Q-tip.

Duration-How long do I have to keep these in for?

Whiten for 45 minutes – 3 hours depending on sensitivity! Begin with shorter applications and gradually increase if you experience little to no sensitivity. DO NOT WHITEN MORE THAN ONCE PER DAY. If sensitivity persists, consider shortening your session or skip days! Again, since my teeth are more on the sensitive side, I started out with shorter times, by the end of my experience I was able to keep on for a longer period of time with no irritation! This has been the first system, that I haven’t wanted to take off in the first 10 minutes I have it on!

Remember, after session remove/clean trays (with cool water), and brush teeth with tooth paste as normal. Another thing, the both Smile Brilliant and I recommend is to do this process before sleep, for better results!

Step two-Desensitizing Gel: Smile Brilliant’s Desensitizing Gel should be used immediately AFTER each whiting session to greatly reduce sensitivity and prevent future staining. Again, it is best to whiten and use desanitizing gel just before sleep.

Remove Breakaway Cap: Twist and remove cap. 1 syringe=3-4 applications (top to bottom)

Apply gel to trays. Verify if trays are clean and dry. Moisture reduced the efficacy of the desensitizing gel. Apply thin steady ribbon of gel along front, outer surface of trays. (surface that comes into contact with front of teeth.)

Next, insert trays. Dry teeth to the best of your ability.

Next wait, 15 to 20 minutes. Spit out remaining gel ( do not rise your mouth following removal of trays.) This next part was the hardest part for me, refrain from consumption of food and beverages for a minimum of 30 minutes.

And that is it you guys! So simple and such fast results!

You guys! I am so happy and over the moon with how this system worked out for me! I cannot say enough good things about this step by step process but the support that I received from the company! The only negative that I will mention, is the taste of both the whitening and desensitizing gel was awful! I think that is true for all whiting agents, of course it is not supposed to taste awesome, but one tip I will give is make sure you don’t add too much gel to your trays to where it would over flow when you go to interest onto your teeth to avoid tasting the gel in anyway! One thing that I always try to maintain is honesty. Especially with you guys, I truly recommend you guys give Smile Brilliant a go! A smile truly reflects who a person is on the inside and out and being more confident in your smile only makes that statement that much more true!
