Hello everyone & welcome back to MorganneRach!
I hope you have all been having a fabulous week so far! If you didn’t notice by the title, for today’s post I am going to be sharing our engagement story with you all. From how it happened, to the moments after to where we are in the wedding planning process. This was a highly requested post, so buckle in! I can’t wait to share with you all! Let’s get into it!
Okay, let me set the tone. It was September 29th, and we we’re headed out to Anderson Farms for my blog photoshoot with the one and only Bri. It was just like any other blog shoot, and I didn’t suspect much other than Bri had mentioned the evening before that Jake is welcome to be apart of some of the shots at the end of our session. I didn’t think much of it because we did drive far to Anderson Farms and it would be a good opportunity to get some nice fall shots of Jake and I.
So the shoot went on, per usual. I was on the forth outfit, which is pictured in today’s blog post. I was shooting per usual by the corn maze when Jake walked over to join us for the finial shots. Of course Bri was snapping away when she placed us in a particular pose. In this moment Jake looked over at me and said quietly “Morganne, I have to tell you something.” the first thing that crossed my mind was “oh no, he ripped his pants” or “he doesn’t want to do this” which both would be totally normal situations for Jake. But, obviously that wasn’t the case. In that moment, he dropped down on one knee and said “Will you marry me?” Keep reading for my oh so romantic response!
The next words that came out of my mouth were “Yes, thank you.” Of course, as a young girl pictured this moment going a lot differently just in regards to my response. But, I was so nervous and in shock the first thing that came out of my mouth was “Yes, thank you.” I will never forgive myself for that one! To make matters even more awkward and in true Morganne and Jake fashion, he then proceeded to say “Should I put the ring on or what?” So in the pictures you see above, that is what is being said and the awkward laughs in between.
The next surprise was my sister popping out of no where from behind a tree! I was so shocked for so many reasons! One being, she had done my hair that morning, which she usually does before my photoshoots. She did not indicate anything. If you have a sister, or a sibling in that case, usually you can sense some sort of uncertainty. I didn’t even indicate anything from her, I was so so surprised. My sister means the absolute world to Jake and I, in many ways so having her apart of our special day meant everything to me.
After so many tears, smiles, hugs and pure bliss we then set out to the pumpkins to take the rest of our engagement shoot. If anyone knows me, or has been a long time reader of the blog you know how much I love fall and this season. Jake, knows that best and planned this whole engagement in a place where he knew I would be in my element, and in true fall heaven. I am so grateful for him! In this moments after, my mind was racing, and I was still in such shock! Jake and I have been dating for going on four years now. We met playing indoor soccer, a sport that brought us together in so many ways. I could have never ever imagined that I would be so lucky as to marrying this man. He is truly one of a kind. So gentle. special and caring! I feel so so lucky that I get to marry him next year! (Tears!)
Let’s talk ring details. Jake picked out this simple, beautiful diamond ring from Sarah 0′ Jewelry, here local to Denver, He did previously knew how much I loved this beautiful jewelry boutique! I am still in awe with how beautiful this ring truly is and I feel so grateful again that he has such an eye for the most special pieces and places. I did not know my ring size previous to the engagement, so we did have to go back and have the ring sized down quite a bit! Sarah O’ Jewelry was amazing, so thoughtful and supportive of us during the entire process. I will link them HERE. We could not have had our special day without them!
I will say it now and a million times after, I am so lucky that I have such a special thoughtful man in my life. He did such an amazing job setting this whole day up. I am usually a very cautious and aware person, and I had absolutely no idea any of this was going to happen! He made me feel like I was the only girl on the planet, not only on that beautiful day but every day since I met him! We do have some wedding plans set and stone, which I will be sharing with you all in no time! Please stay tuned for all things wedding planning, I can’t wait to share with you all! Be sure to follow me on socials to stay tuned for minor details!
Because this whole look was centered around my blog shoot, I did want to include the pictures we did capture of this look before the big surprise! For obvious reasons, Bri told me to save the best look for last which I am so glad I decided to choose this look for our special moment. Because this dress is SO perfect for any fall & winter special occasion. It almost feels as though it has a padded texture. It is so warm cozy, but form fitting! I also love the pattern and colors this dress presented! The small details also caught my eye with this dress from the high neck to the slight slit in the bottom of the dress. So seasonally appropriate! I am obsessed! I then decided to pair this dress with my favorite fall booties and a brim hat, as always right?
Okay loves, thanks for reading along in today’s post! September 29th was truly one of the most special days of my life yet, and I cannot wait to continue to share the wedding planning and Jake with you all! I will leave all the details and links down below for you all if you are interested. Until next time loves, MUAH.
I wanted to give a HUGE shout out to the amazing photographer who took these gorg photos. If you are in the Denver area Bri is AMAZING. I will link her site HERE. Thanks Bri we could not have done this day without you!
